ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Track & Field student-athletes Makiaya Worthy and Trey Plichta were named Prairie Farms Student-Athletes of the Week by the department on Monday. 

Worthy broke her own school record twice in the Women's 400m preliminaries and finals where the senior won the individual crown in 54.67 seconds. The Federal Way, Washington native also aided the Women's 4x100m Relay to a second-place finish and the 4x400m Relay to a win in 3:48.07.

Plichta took to the barriers and the water pit in the Men's 3,000m Steeplechase where the Sanford native outlasted a Youngstown State harrier surge in the last 100m for a winning time of 9:10.04. Plichta successfully defended his title where he won the 2022 event in Rochester a year ago.
