INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Oakland cross country and track and field student-athlete Grace Nolan, along with Cleveland State's Filippa Frogner, have been named the Horizon League's 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year nominees, the league announced Monday.
On the track, the Clarkson native set the Horizon League championship record in the 10k event, earning the title at this spring's outdoor championship. She also has collected Cross Country All-League First Team honors three times during her career.
In the Southeast Michigan community, Nolan worked as a Volunteer Phlebotomist at the Fern Care Free Clinic and Gary Bernstein Community Health Clinic and has volunteered with the Michigan Senior Olympics, Lighthouse of Oakland County and Girls on the Run.
Nolan studied Biomedical Sciences at Oakland, earning Platinum Presidential Scholar honors and was accepted into the William Beaumont School of Medicine. She has collected multiple Valeo All-Academic Team honors in her career and earned one of the Horizon's Cecil N. Coleman Medals of Honor.
Conferences offices can choose up to two student-athletes from their member school nominations if at least one nominee is an international student-athlete or student-athlete of color. The Woman of the Year Selection Committee, made up of representatives from the NCAA membership, will choose the Top 30 honorees — 10 from each division — from the conference-level nominees. The Top 30 honorees will be announced in the fall.
The Woman of the Year will be celebrated at the 2026 NCAA Convention in January.
