ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University is set to host its annual 2023 Patrick A. Tooman Memorial Golden Grizzlies Golf Classic on Monday, July 17 at the R&S Sharf/Katke-Cousins Courses with registration and sponsorships open.

Since 1997, Tooman was a major supporter of Oakland's student-athletes, primarily through his sponsorship of the Department of Athletics' annual golf outing as the presenting sponsor. His appreciation for student-athletes stemmed from admiration of their resolve and determination to overcome challenges to succeed academically and athletically. Tooman passed away in December 2021.

Pricing begins for the Katke-Cousins Course at $900 per team or $225 per individual while the R&S Sharf Course is priced at $1200 per team or $300 per individual. All prices are fair market value and a receipt will be issued for a charitable donation. Proceeds from the event go directly to Golden Grizzly varsity athletic programs. 

The event will feature a four-person scramble format and kicks off at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start. The entry includes one round of golf, lunch, a special gift, and dinner following the conclusion of play.
