Track Set to Compete at Pacesetter Sports Invitational

ROCHESTER, Mich. – From April 1-2, Oakland University Men's and Women's Track & Field will compete at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational on the campus of Indiana State University at the Gibson Track & Field Complex. 

Three Golden Grizzlies (Eddie Harrell III, Ashley Quinn, and Grace Nolan) competed at the Raleigh Relays on the campus of NC State last weekend with two #HLTF-leading performances in both the Men's and Women's 800m. 

This will be the first weekend of the season in which all Golden Grizzlies will be participating on the oval. Indiana State's Pacesetter Sports Invite is the first of three in which the Sycamores will host in the outdoor season having three during the indoor season as well.

Following this event, Oakland will host the Golden Grizzlies Invitational in Rochester on April 8 at the Oakland Track & Field.

 

INDOOR ALL-ACADEMIC SELECTIONS
Five Golden Grizzlies in Grace Nolan, Ashley Quinn, Eddie Harrell III, Yami Albrecht, and Gabe Singh received #HLTF Indoor All-Academic honors with the last two garnering honorable mention status.

OUTDOOR PRESEASON POLL RELEASED
Oakland's men's team was picked second in the #HLTF Outdoor Preseason Poll as voted on by the coaches. The women's team were third with 100 points to their credit.

THREES ACROSS THE BOARD
Both the men's and women's squads were ranked third in the annual #HLTF Preseason Indoor Coaches Poll. 

ALBRECHT - THE CHAMPION
At the 2022 #HLXC Championships in Rochester, Albrecht won the individual crown through the 8,000-kilometer course with a kick down the final stretch in 24:44. 

RUNNERS OF THE WEEK SWEEP
After only one meet on the course this season, Albrecht and Nolan earned Nike #HLXC Runners of the Week in the Horizon League's first edition this September.

NO. 1 ON THE COURSE
The Golden Grizzlies women's squad is predicted to win the Horizon League championship this October with the men's team slated for third overall.

RETURNING FORCE
Six of the top seven finishers for the men and five of the top seven for the women return to the team for the 2022 fall season.
