AKRON, Ohio - The Golden Grizzlies returned for round two of competition at the Zippy Invitational bringing the women to a current score of 438 and the men to 615.5. 

To lead things off in the women's 500 freestyle, sophomore Nora Molnar landed a 10th place finish in a time of (4:57.39), and teammates Mia Englender, Erika Pietras, Lola Laenen, and Angelina Baker filled out 13th through 15th for the top 20 times. 

Right out of the gate for the men's 500-yard freestyle was champion Jonas Cantrell who paved a brand new meet and pool record in Ocasek Natatorium for his first-place time of 4:18.47. Golden Grizzlies Harry Nicholson, Joseph Countryman, Carson Ricker, Andrew Gelston, and Kieron Bezuidenhout all secured top 20 times for the event, respectively. 

Following was the women's 200-yard IM where Jordyn Shipps showed up and put down a fifth-place finish with her time of 2:01.20 in the lanes. Alongside her were freshmen Clarissa Bezuidenhout and Delaney Buckner who finished in 22nd and 30th. 

In the men's 200-yard IM, senior Jack Wike carved out a ninth-place finish in a time of 1:47.33, and behind him were teammates Christopher Palvadre who took 14th, and Max Haney who took 22nd in the lanes. 

Junior Sam Thiessen took a speedy 13th place finish (23.41) in the women's 50-yard freestyle, and, notably, Golden Grizzlies Ronja Riihinen and Mia Keranan filled 17th and 27th in the event. 

Then, the Golden Grizzlies dominated in the men's 50-yard freestyle as graduate student Christian Bart secured an incredible first-place finish (19.92), and right behind him was sophomore Charles Brown who tied for second place (19.98). Additionally, Harry Nicholson made an impressive sixth-place finish, and Micah Scheffer tabbed 13th. 

Oakland's A relay went on to finish in seventh place for the women's 400-yard medley relay (3:45.00), alongside Oakland's B, C, and D relay teams who finished 12th, 14th, and 17th to round out the top 20 competitors. 

And last but not least, the men's 400-yard medley relay brought in a fiery second-place finish from Oakland's A relay team at a time of 3:10.69. Oakland's B relay then claimed fifth-place (3:13.98), Oakland's C relay took 12th, and Oakland's D relay took 15th to finish the night strong. 

The Golden Grizzlies will continue finals tomorrow night at 6:00 pm beginning with the 100-yard butterfly event.
