ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Track & Field Women's 4x400m Relay and Yami Albrecht broke a school record as part of a two-meet weekend split at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, and Jet's Pizza Invitational in University Center, Michigan.
Makiya Worthy, Samari Finney, Azsah Bradley, and Payton Sabourin toppled the school's Women's 4x400m relay record with a blazing mark of 3:48.86 while at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville.
Grace Nolan would pace to seventh in the Women's 3,000m in 9:55.68 while Yami Albrecht finished ninth in the Men's 3,000m at 8:09.46 for the second school record on the day. In the field, Alex Hugh-Plott bested the stout competition in the Men's High Jump to fly away with fourth in 2.10m.
Nolan doubled for third overall in the Women's 5,000m run at 17:10.63 as Albrecht would do the same, winning the individual title in the event at 14:33.15 by over 16 seconds.
Up in University Center, Colin Kane was runner-up in the Men's 5,000m in 15:04.93 while his teammate, Armon Howard, ran away with the Men's 400m, posting a 49.07. Howard also made his appearance in the Men's 200m dash for third at 22.29 seconds.
Simara Miller lept her way to a Women's Triple Jump victory in 11.31m to round out the top-finishing competition in the field at the Jet's Pizza Invitational.
The Golden Grizzlies will be back on the oval for the famous Meyo Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana from February 3-4 at the Loftus Sports Center.
