2022 Slate Concludes at GVSU for Oakland Indoor Track & Field

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field are set to compete in the GVSU Holiday Open hosted by Grand Valley State for the final meet of the calendar year on Friday, December 9.

Multiple Golden Grizzlies took individual titles at the season-opener, the SVSU Holiday Open, in Saginaw last weekend. Namely, Gabriel Singh, Shaneese La Mons, Alex Hugh-Plott, Shamar Jenkins, Alexis Hunter, and Lauren Christian all won their respective events at SVSU ranging from triple jumps all the way to the 600m dash.

No team scores were taken at Saginaw Valley State however Oakland bested squads from NCAA Division II, Division III, and NAIA institutions.

This will be the last meet before the holiday break for Oakland, returning with another meet at Saginaw Valley State, the SVSU Classic, on January 13.

SCOUTING REPORT
This will be the first meet that the Kelly Family Sports Center will host this year ahead of a home slate that features only home meets (nine of them in fact) for the Lakers.

Last season, Oakland did not appear at a Grand Valley State-hosted meet until February 11 though the home Lakers posted 22 NCAA Division II provisional marks.

THREES ACROSS THE BOARD
Both the men's and women's squads were ranked third in the annual #HLTF Preseason Indoor Coaches Poll.
