On behalf of the Oakland Volleyball program, the Golden Grizzlies would like to congratulate Sammy Condon on her graduation from Oakland University with a master's degree in special education. Condon served as a graduate assistant for the past two seasons. 
 
Condon, a native of Naperville, Ill., was a standout for the Golden Grizzlies from 2014-17 becoming the first player in Oakland history to earn all-league honors every season of her career. She is Oakland's all-time leader in block assists (404) and total blocks (432) while finishing her career ranking inside Oakland's top-10 in nine other categories. During her final season, she was one of 30 NCAA women's volleyball student-athletes selected as a candidate for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award.
 
"I wish Sammy the very best as she graduates from Oakland for the second time, now with her Master's Degree in Special Education.  She will be an outstanding teacher and positive influence in the lives of her students," Head Coach Rob Beam said. "As a student-athlete and as a coach, she has been a shining example for everyone as to what it means to be a Golden Grizzly. She gave her maximum effort, lived with joy and enthusiasm, selflessly served her teammates and student-athletes, held herself and her teammates to the highest standards of behavior and execution, built close friendships, and excelled on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.  She is one of the truly great people that I have had the opportunity to work with and she has left a lasting impression on me and our program."
