What does this Award mean to you?
Receiving this award is not only a humbling honor but it reflects an acknowledgment of a long-standing passion to collaborate with the Athletics Department to promote OU school spirit and recognize how much the student-athletes contribute to the OU community from the perspective of being both a Pioneer and a Golden Grizzly.  Thank you on selecting me for the George Wibby Award.

ABOUT THE AWARD
George Wibby's long history with Oakland University began in the 1960's as an official for the swimming and diving program. Wibby was also a familiar face at basketball games and golf outings. After retiring from the American Red Cross, Wibby coached golf in addition to working as a golf ranger at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course. Wibby established the Jewel Wibby Scholarship Fund, in honor of his wife after her death.

To recognize Wibby's dedication and service to Oakland, the George Wibby Award was established in 1987. This award is given to an Oakland University employee who exemplifies his spirit and devotion to
Oakland as well as compassion and care for those around them.

This year's induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Jan. 24 at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac beginning at 6 p.m.
