Chad ElliottWhat does being inducted to the Hall of Honor mean to you?
Well, it truly is an honor. To be able to be included with such an illustrious class of individuals and be recognized for this award is extremely humbling for me personally. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of a lot of people along the way, most importantly my coaches/teammates and also my parents for instilling in me how important it is to give back to others, especially those who have been so instrumental in where I am today.

What does Oakland mean to you?
When I think of Oakland, one word comes to mind… Home. Oakland has always been a mainstay of this community/city and personally having grown up here, it's been very exciting to watch the campus grow and take shape. The campus has always had an intimate feel to it and despite its growth in recent years, it still feels that way today.

What is your favorite Oakland memory?
Probably some of my fondest memories were of traveling from city to city with my teammates/coaches getting to experience different parts of the country, all while getting the chance to forge some life long friendships/relationships that still exist today.

What does your sport mean to you?
Golf has been a huge part of my life since a very early age and that continues to this day. Unlike most sports, golf still offers the unique ability to continue to be a part of the sport you grew to love even after your "playing" days have come to an end. The game of golf also presents a wonderful opportunity to network with other people in the community that share the same passion for the sport!

What did you do after your Oakland experience?
Upon graduating in '07, I went on to work for Elliott Group International, an automotive supplier corporation, where I am currently the Chief Operating Officer.

This year's induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Jan. 24 at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac. The event is open to the public, and those interested in attending can register here.
