ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland men's and women's swimming and diving teams will open the 2018-19 season with a pair of competitions beginning with a dual meet against University of Michigan and Miami (Oh) on Friday at 5 p.m. at Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor.
On Saturday the Golden Grizzlies will continue competition at Canham Natatorium at the JDRF Awareness Relay-Only Meet beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday's meet is an exhibition to raise awareness for Type 1 diabetes and will feature 10-time Olympic medalist Gary Hall Jr. While training for the 2000 Sydney Olympics Hall was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, he will speak to Saturday's crowd on living and competing with diabetes.
