ROCHESTER, Mich. - Andrew Bowman will run in the 3000m steeplechase heat two semifinals on Wed., June 6 at 8:02 p.m. ET (5:02 p.m. PT) at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The top five runners from each heat and next top two times will move on to the finals on Friday, June 9 at 8:54 p.m. ET. Bowman is just the third student-athlete in program history to compete at the national championships since Bryce Stroede who qualified last season in the 5000m. Coverage of the event will be broadcast live on ESPN2 beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Bowman's road to Eugene began at the Raleigh Relays (Mar. 30) where he qualified for 2018 NCAA East Preliminary Round with a 3000m steeplechase time of 8:52.64.
He went on to punch his ticket to the NCAA Championships finishing eighth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:46.35 at the NCAA East Prelims held at the USF Track and Field Stadium in Tampa, Fla. (May 25) becoming the first student-athlete in program history to qualify in this event.
