Statement from Oakland University Athletics on Horizon League announcement on Cost of Attendance
The Horizon League announced on Monday that the Board of Directors voted unanimously to offer up to cost of attendance for athletics scholarships for men's basketball and at least an equal number of female student-athletes in a league-sponsored sport or sports. This decision underscores a desire by the member institutions and the conference office to remain nationally competitive in the changing intercollegiate athletics landscape. At Oakland University, the welfare of our student-athletes is a high priority and the department will develop a strategic plan for rapid implementation of this league-mandated initiative.
