ROCHESTER, Mich. - Elizabeth Scott has been named an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Oakland University, announced Assistant AD for Athletics Performance Chris Meny on Monday.
"First I want to thank Michelle (Heiser) for her time here at Oakland as her impact here was great and we wish her well in her dream job," said Meny. "I believe it is a testament to what we are building here at Oakland University that we have added Elizabeth Scott to our staff. She comes highly recommended from one of the premier programs in the country. She will be a phenomenal addition to the organization as we continue to build our evidence based approach to athlete performance."
Scott spent the past two years as the Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Boston University from the men's and women's track and field, cross country and women's rugby programs. She managed complex patient cases and helped in a variety of areas including women's rowing, women's soccer, men and women's swimming and diving, dance theater patients, and club sport gymnasts.
As an Athletic Training student at Florida, Scott assisted clinical preceptors with the management of various orthopedic and non-orthopedic patient cases involving student-athletes from women's gymnastics and the men's and women's track and field teams. She also interned at the University of Florida Sports Health where she organized pertinent documentation for all incoming student athletes and assisted with participation screening.
A native of Brighton, Mass., Scott attended Florida and received a bachelor's degree in athletic training and later earned a master's degree in Human Physiology at Boston University.
