2014-15 Women's Basketball Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS - The Horizon League announced on Thursday the women's basketball league schedule for the 2015 season to complete a 29-game schedule for the Golden Grizzlies throughout the 2014-15 season. Oakland will play 13 home contests inside the Athletics Center O'rena.

"We are really looking forward to another exciting year of basketball in the Horizon League," said head coach Jeff Tungate. "This is our second year in the Horizon League, but this is the 40th year of women's basketball at Oakland University. It also marks the 25th anniversary of the 1990 Final Four team. We take great pride in representing all the people that came before us. You will see many special events and promotions this year during our games. It will be a fun year in the O'rena."

Oakland's 16-game Horizon League schedule includes home-and-home matchups against all eight league opponents. The Golden Grizzlies open the league slate at home against Milwaukee on Jan. 10 and face rival Detroit in the O'rena on Feb. 18.

The road league schedule has Oakland on a four-game swing away from Rochester from Feb.4-14, while traveling to Calihan Hall to face the Titans on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.

The Golden Grizzlies finished their inaugural season in the Horizon League with an 8-8 record, good for sixth place, and a 13-17 overall mark. Oakland returns Academic All-Horizon League selection Elena Popkey for her junior season and boasts one of the top incoming recruiting classes in the country being awarded honorable mention honors by Blue Star report.
