ROCHESTER, Mich. - Kim Bee recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Olivia Nash and Amy Carlton tied for a team-high 16 points as the Oakland women's basketball team earned a 60-46 victory over Windsor in an exhibition game on Sunday in the Athletics Center O'rena.

"I was really pleased with our performance tonight with the number of injuries we've had and to play as well as we did against a team as good as Windsor who is a three-time defending Canadian national champion," said coach Jeff Tungate. "For us to come out, to have that kind performance and battle back from behind is a good testimony to the kind of team we have."

Elena Popkey was one point shy of recording a double-double of her own as she finished with 11 assists and nine points. Windsor's Jessica Clemencon scored a game-high 21 points with 14 rebounds.

Oakland scored 24 points off 23 turnovers, including 15 steals, as OU led by as many as 16 points midway through the second half.

The Golden Grizzlies trailed at the half, 31-28, but came out with a strong defensive effort in the second period allowing only 15 points in the final 20 minutes. Windsor shot just 22.6 percent from the floor including 0-for-15 from behind the 3-point line. Oakland went on a 15-2 run in the first seven minutes of the second half led by Carlton with seven points and Nash with five points.

Carlton scored 11 of her 16 points in the second half leading with two 3-pointers and Popkey added eight points, while Bee grabbed nine of her 11 boards in the final 20 minutes. OU shot 60.0 percent (3-5) from behind the arc and 40.0 percent (12-30) from the floor to lead the comeback in the second period.

The Golden Grizzlies will officially begin the 2013-14 season when they travel to Bloomington, Ind. to take on Indiana on Nov. 9 in Assembly Hall starting at 7 p.m.
