Micah Jones wins OU Student-Athlete of the Week after becoming Oakland's first women's individual champion at The Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in school history.
Jones, a native of Detroit, Mich., won the long jump event by breaking her own school record with a jump of 19 feet, 5.25 inches. She is the first individual champion in either indoor or outdoor track and field in Oakland history.
Jones also finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 38 feet, 5.5 inches and earned a tie for sixth-place in the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 4.5 inches.
This is Jones' first career OU Student-Athlete of the Week honor.
