ROCHESTER, Mich. - After 13 years of service and dedication, Simon Dover has been elevated to Senior Associate Athletic Director, announced by Director of Athletics Tracy Huth on Monday. Dover begins his new role inside the department of athletics immediately.
"It is my distinct pleasure to name Simon as the Senior Associate AD," said Huth. "I'm honored to have served with him in this department for the past several years. Simon has contributed so much to the growth and success of Oakland Athletics. His dedication and passion for this institution has been tremendous since the day he arrived and his experience in all facets of our operations, internally and externally, continues to benefit our staff, coaches and most importantly, the student-athletes."
In his new position, Dover will serve as the No. 2 person in the department and be in charge of day-to-day operations. He will continue to be responsible for implementing strategic planning initiatives, contract negotiations and managing the multi-million dollar athletic budget.
"I would be remiss if I did not recognize the Dover family for the support they give Simon in his service to us," said Huth. "Many thanks to Janice, Harrison and Haley! Oakland Athletics is fortunate to have them supporting our mission."
Over the past three years, Dover has served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Operations, overseeing athletic communications, marketing and promotions and athletic training operations. Dover's also served as a sport administrator for men's and women's cross country and track and field teams.
