ROCHESTER, Mich. - Tim Dameron joins Oakland as the new Coordinator of Promotions, Marketing and Ticketing for the athletic department, announced by Director of Athletics Tracy Huth on Tuesday. Dameron will coordinate the promotion and marketing for all of OU's 18 intercollegiate sports, in addition to group ticket sales.
"We have a tremendous partnership with The Palace and Tim came highly recommended," said Huth. "His experience in the community and in-game presentation at the professional ranks should serve Oakland well as he makes the transition in to intercollegiate sports. He is a great asset to our department."
Dameron served as the Game Presentation Manager for the Detroit Pistons and Shock over the past decade. In his role at PS&E, he coordinated all the live entertainment elements, presentation in conjunction with marketing and promotions. Dameron also prided himself on maintaining one of the slimmest presentation budgets in the NBA, while continuing to produce one of the top in-game productions in the NBA and WNBA.
"I am truly excited to be working here at Oakland," said Dameron. "After spending years working in professional sports, I decided that my true passion lays in college athletics. I couldn't think of a better place to pursue that passion than at Oakland."
Dameron has also worked with Coca-Cola enterprises, Hillside Productions and the Detroit Sport and Social Club. He also spent one season as the marketing and merchandising consultant for the Nordic Vikings, a professional football team based out of Stockholm, Sweden.
