Oakland Head Coach Beckie Francis
Opening Statement
"I was very pleased with then intensity of our players in the first half. I thought we created some havoc for them in terms of them running their offense and we forced them to turn the ball over. I was pleased with the whole team. The bench performance was really good and I was particularly impressed with that we had 36 baskets and 32 of them were assisted. I've never seen anything like it."
On preparing for the schedule ahead
"We were working on our rotation and looking to have some of our new player get extended minutes instead of playing just here and there. We reached our goals."
On seeing growth in the young players
"I think with passing and learning our offense, they are doing a great job. I was so impressed with how unselfish our play was, especially with Bethany Watterworth. I don't think she even took a shot in the first ten minutes of the game. She had seven assist and one turnover and I think if I could have played her 40 minutes, she could have had a triple-double easy."
On whether Watterworth is the biggest surprise of the freshman group
"Not a surprise, but a very good freshman. I would say Victoria Lipscomb is my surprise. I am really pleased with how she is playing. We knew Bethany was good going in, but we're not surprised to see how she is doing."
