ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland University men's swimming team will kick off the 2009-10 season, Friday, Oct. 9 at the Dennis Stark Relays in South Bend, Ind. The Grizzlies scored 194 points to place second of five teams at last year's meet. The meet, hosted by Notre Dame, is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.

In Oakland's last meet, Team Black beat Team Gold 160-127 at the Black/Gold meet on Sept. 25. Alex Aceino and Anders Jensen led the way for team Black as they won three events each. Aceino won the 100 butterfly and the 500 and 1000 freestyle events. Jensen, a NCAA All-America in 2008-09, captured the 100 backstroke, 200 butterfly and 200 IM.

Winning two events apiece were Adam Ralph (1 and 3-meter boards), Eddie Toro (100, 200 breaststroke) and Marcin Unold (50, 100 free).
