ROCHESTER, Mich. ???C Sophomore Hanna Reising scored a season-high 19 points and junior Jessica Pike added 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Oakland University women???s basketball team to a 74-53 victory over the Central Michigan University Chippewas on Sunday afternoon at the Athletics Center O???Rena.

???We played with a championship-level focus today,??? said head coach Beckie Francis. ???It was fun to watch.??? OU opened the game on a 9-0 run over the first 5:21 of the contest, but CMU quickly fought back, narrowing the Golden Grizzlies lead to three (13-10) at the halfway point of the opening half. Oakland responded with a 12-2 run over the next five minutes to extend its lead to 13 (25-12), but the Chippewas once again fought back to pull to within two (29-27) with just over a minute to go in the half. Four points by Reising over the final 1:19 of the half gave OU a six-point lead going into the intermission. The two teams kept relatively even through the first ten minutes of the second half, with CMU pulling to within six (50-44) after a Candace Wilson three-pointer with 9:55 remaining. However, the Grizzlies went on a 22-3 run to push their lead to 25 (72-47) with just over two minutes to play. Joining Reising and Pike in double figure scoring were senior Charlese Greer with 13 points and sophomore Melissa Jeltema with 11 points. Jeltema added a game-high nine rebounds in the winning effort. OU out-shot CMU 51.9 percent to 39.2 percent, while holding a 35-27 rebounding advantage and a 42-22 advantage on points in the paint. The Grizzlies will return to action Thursday, November 29, as they travel to Athens, Ga. to face the No. 8 Georgia Lady Bulldogs. Tip from Stegeman Coliseum is set for 7:00 p.m. -30-
