The Golden Grizzlies once again saw a half-time lead disappear Wednesday night as Oakland fell to Colorado State 78-68 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Oakland falls to 2-3 on the year, while Colorado State improves to 6-0. Oakland led the Rams 36-35 at the half after shooting 48.3 percent from the field. The Golden Grizzlies came up short in the second half hitting only 10-31 shots for a 32.3 shooting percentage. OU was outscored 43-32 in the final 20 minutes of play. Leading the way for the Golden Grizzlies was senior Beth Zeone (Dunlap, Illinois/Dunlap HS) with 15 points and three assists. Freshman Naomi Nickleberry (Saginaw/Arthur Hill HS) followed with 12 points and sophomore Katie Wolfe (Cedar Springs/Cedar Springs HS) and junior Jamie Ahlgren (Muskegon/Mona Shores) each scored 10 points apiece. Sophomore Christina Blandford (Berkley/Bishop Foley HS) led the Golden Grizzlies on the boards with eight rebounds. Blandford also scored six points.
