The Oakland University women's basketball team was defeated by the Cowgirls of Wyoming, 82-73, on Monday night in Laramie, Wyoming. OU falls to 2-2 on the season, while Wyoming improves to 3-1. The Golden Grizzlies determined the play of the game in the first half taking a 43-37 lead into the intermission. Unfortunately for Oakland, the Cowgirls proved to be too much outscoring OU 45-30 in the final 20 minutes of play to seal the 82-73 victory. Leading the way for Oakland were four Golden Grizzlies in double figures. Junior
Sarah Judd (Eastpointe/Harper Woods Regina HS) scored 17 points and grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds. Senior
Beth Zeone (Dunlap, Illinois/Dunlap HS) followed with 15 points and sophomore
Romica Clint (Toledo, Ohio/Start HS) and sophomore Katie Wolfe (Cedar Springs/Cedar Springs HS) scored 13 and 11 points, respectively. The Golden Grizzlies will continue their road trip this Wednesday with a matchup at Colorado State. Game time is 9 p.m. EST.
