The Oakland women's basketball team fell to the Jaguars of IUPUI Thursday, January 27, 64-61. IUPUI's Kellie Byers hit a three-pointer from the left corner as time expired to claim the victory for IUPUI. OU led 31-30 at the break and IUPUI opened up the second half with a 16-7 run that put the Jaguars up eight at 46-38. Oakland responded with a 9-0 run of its own to pull ahead by one 47-46 with 11:06 to go. It was back and forth the rest of the way. OU dropped to 8-9 overall and stands at 4-3 in the Mid-Continent Conference. IUPUI improved to 7-11 overall, 3-5 in the Mid-Con. The game featured eight ties and 13 lead changes, nine in the second half alone. Sophomore Sarah Judd led the way for Oakland with 23 points and freshman Katie Wolfe scored 21. Judd also grabbed seven boards in the loss. Oakland is again in action this Saturday, January 29, as the Golden Grizzlies travel to Youngstown, Ohio to face the YSU Penguins. Game time is 5:15 p.m.
