George O'Connor returned to Oakland at the Director of Operations for the 2019-20 season after a standout career with the Golden Grizzlies' track and field team from 2013-2017.

• Recorded a second place finish with 3000m steeplechase PR (9:18.62) at the Gibson Invitational (April 18).

• Recorded mile PR (4:18.14) and finished fourth at the GVSU Big Meet (Feb. 14).
• Placed second in the 1000m at the EMU-Quad Meet (Jan. 9) with a PR of 2:32.71 and recorded a 800m PR (1:55.49) at the Youngstown State National Invite.
• Was first leg in the DMR team that placed third at the Horizon League Indoor Championships. (March 1) and second at the Youngstown State National Invite (Feb. 7).Â

• Was fourth in the 3000m steeplechase at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 9:31.28 - a new career-best (May 2-4)
• Best time in the steeplechase ranks third-best in Oakland history
• Also recorded a new personal-best time in the 1500m with a 3:59.52 at the Jesse Owens Classic, ranking fourth all-time at OU (Apr. 18-19)
• Improved in the 3000m run with a time of 8:47.94 at the Oakland vs. Detroit Dual, ranking fourth in Oakland history (Apr. 5)
