Kelly Cassette joined the Athletic Communications team as graduate assistant in September 2025. She is the primary contact for men’s and women’s golf, swim and dive, and women’s tennis for the Golden Grizzlies.
Cassette joins the team after a year at ESPN as a Statistics Analyst, monitoring live statistics from various collegiate and professional sports across platforms.
While in Bristol, Cassette assisted in the launch of the new ESPN app and direct-to-consumer streaming service, working specifically on the brand new SC4U. She also aided in manually updating and tracking live scoring of games to maintain real-time updates, including sports such as NCAA football, NCAA men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s College World Series.
In 2024, Cassette worked for the Lansing Lugnuts MiLB team as a DakStats Operator, running the in-house stats software. She worked alongside the Official Scorer and Stringer in collecting game statistics for the Lugnuts and the GLIAC Tournament.
Cassette worked with athletics during her undergrad for two years as a Game Day Experience and Fan Engagement intern, helping coordinate game day activities and run marketing promotions during home contests. She also volunteered with marketing as Oakland hosted the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight rounds of the Men's March Madness Tournament at Little Caesar's Arena.
