Luka Matacin joined the Golden Grizzlies in 2018 as a graduate assistant. Matacin’s primary responsibilities will be managing the day-to-day operations of the program in addition to overseeing international recruiting and the mid-distance group.
Matacin spent two seasons at Drury University (2014-2016) in Springfield, Mo. before transferring to Florida Southern College where he earned a bachelor of science in business administration and minor in economics graduating cum laude. During his collegiate career, Matacin swam the freestyle, backstroke and individual medley.
While at Drury, Matacin was a national runner-up, and earned two fourth place finishes at NCAA Championships while swimming at FSC.
The Rijeka, Croatia native is a six time All-American and earned academic All-American honors all four years of college.
