Tre Brown

An Ann Arbor native, Tre Brown, 28, joined the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Track & Field staff as the assistant sprints coach ahead of the 2023-24 academic year.

A four-year letterwinner for the Ann Arbor Pioneer Pioneers during his prep days and a 2013 Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) All-State selection as a senior, Brown will work closely with the sprinters, hurdlers, relay teams and horizontal jumpers.

One of the most decorated student-athletes in the history of Golden Grizzly men’s track & field, Brown garnered All-Horizon League recognition every year of his career and was Oakland’s school record holder in the 400-meter hurdles at 52.92, as well as ranking in the top-four in both the 60 and 110-meter hurdles.

Brown was also a member of three Horizon League Champion relay teams, capturing both the indoor and outdoor 1,600-meter relay titles as a junior in 2017, and his 2016 400-meter relay squad owns the third-best time in program history at 41.67.

Graduating with his bachelor’s in Psychology and a double minor in Philosophy and Sociology in 2018, Brown owns coaching certifications from USA Track & Field (USATF) and the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and has previous coaching experience with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Lawrence Tech Blue Devils and multiple high schools, helping develop several All-State student-athletes along the way.

The son of Anna Konigsberg, Brown has two brothers, Jeffrey and Daric.
