Biography
Chris King assists with both the men[apos]s and women[apos]s golf programs at Oakland University. He enters his fifth season as an assistant for the men[apos]s team and third with the women[apos]s team.
During his time as assistant coach, King has elevated the golf programs in the rankings over the last few seasons. The Golden Grizzlies have advanced from No. 208 in the country to No. 158 in just one season. The 158 is the second-highest ranking OU has attained since competing at the Division I level. The women[apos]s program was seeded eighth heading in to the 2011 Summit League Championship, but finished third and placed three players inside the top 12.
Owner of the Pita Pit in Auburn Hills, King played his collegiate golf at Oakland University where he continues to hold the school record for lowest round with a 65 in the Colonial Classic in Pennsylvania during his senior season. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Golden Grizzlies and graduated from Oakland with a degree in business in 2003.
Prior to returning to Oakland and handling the Pita Pit, King served as a financial planner for Hantz Financial in Southfield, Mich. from 2003-06.
King resides in Sterling Heights with his wife, Tina and daughter Alexa.
