  • Black Employee Resource Group
    • The Black Employee Resource Group provides resources which lead to personal and professional development, retention and career advancement for Oakland University Black faculty and staff.

  • Center for Multicultural Initiatives*
    • The Center for Multicultural Initiatives provides support for underrepresented students' success and fosters an appreciation for campus wide diversity.

  • Center for Civic Engagement*
    • The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) translates academic knowledge into experiential learning by sending students and faculty into the community to build solutions. As a "convener of conversations," CCE invites and hosts policy experts to campus and creates opportunities for the community to attend panels and engage with these experts.

  • Disability Support Services*
    • Disability Support Services provides students assistance to achieve higher levels of academic success through the following resources: alternative textbook formats, alternative furniture, assistive listening devices, assistive technology, classroom changes for physical access, door openers, note takes, and sign language interpreters / cart services.

  • Office for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion*
    • Oakland University's diversity, equity and inclusion objectives are grounded in the realization that one cannot build a foundation of collaboration while focusing on differences between contributors. Instead, the foundation must be built on the shared aspirations, commitments and surmountable challenges of all. At OU, learning and diversity are inevitably linked by the common pursuit of knowledge and understanding.

  • Foreign Employee Resource Group
    • The Foreign Employee Resource Group's Mission is to reach out to all foreign employees at OU, create a knowledge and resource pool regarding unique challenges foreign employees face at OU, and provide support for international students and scholars.

  • Gender & Sexuality Center*
    • The Gender and Sexuality Center supports the retention and graduation of LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, and asexual or allied) students through education and retention initiatives for all members of the OU community.
    • SAFE on Campus Initiative: Students, Administrators and Faculty for Equality (SAFE) on Campus empowers students, staff and faculty to provide support to LGBTQIA colleagues at Oakland University. Training includes sexual orientation versus gender identity, defining LGBTQIA, includes group activities, campus resources, and guidance on making referrals. Training is now available in introductory and advanced levels. Click here to request a SAFE training. 
    • The Out on Campus Initiative demonstrates Oakland University's commitment to providing an inclusive and accepting atmosphere to the LGBTQIA community. No matter what sexual orientation or gender you ascribe to, or if you are simply an ally to the community, Oakland University can be considered a safe place for you to call home.

  • LGBTQIA Employee Resource Group
    • The LGBTQIA Employee Resource Group serves to foster an inclusive, open campus community, advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex and allied people

  • Title IX*
    • If a student reports an incident of sexual misconduct by another student, as a faculty or staff member, you must report the matter to the Dean of Students. If the reported offender is not a student, please report to the Title IX Coordinator. The OUPD may also be contacted and is the University's first responder to any safety concerns.   • Women Employee Resource Group*
    • The Women Employee Resource Group provides professional and personal development opportunities for women employees of Oakland University. WERG will also serve as an advocate for Oakland University women in regard to issues that impact them, at large, as employees.
