Oakland Athletics Announces New SAAC Executive Board Members

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland Athletics has announced its newest Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Board, set to take place next academic year.

Also known as SAAC, the committee consists of student-athlete leaders who work to provide insight and support for the experience of all student-athletes at Oakland.

Recently electing an entirely new executive board, Oakland Athletics is excited for the next wave of student leaders to uphold and extend the impact SAAC has at the university.

The new Executive Board President is Jordyn Shipps. A junior from Dewitt, Mich., Shipps has been an outstanding leader for a championship swim and dive program, most recently winning Oakland's Women's President Award at the annual Black and Gold Awards.

"I am so excited to be on the SAAC Executive Board next year! I am thankful to have a chance to impact the overall student-athlete experience at OU, while also getting to know athletes from various sports," said Shipps. "Something I am looking forward to incorporating is the emphasis of conference championship send-offs, and making each team feel supported by other teams before their big competition!"

Joining Shipps are Vice President Anika Prisby (volleyball), Secretary Claire Loveland (softball), and Social and Communications Chair Ellie Chalifoux (swim and dive). Each year, the executive board contains one male and one female Horizon League Representative. This upcoming year's representatives are Aiden Boldt (swim and dive) and Jhelysse Anthony (women's soccer), respectively.

Those elected to board have been leaders both on and off the competition surface for their respective teams and all student-athletes, with many winning leadership and impact awards at this year's Black and Gold Awards show.
