ROCHESTER, Mich. – A little over two weeks after breaking his own high jump program record in the Silverston Invitational in Ann Arbor, Oakland track and field graduate student Alex Hugh-Plott joined Golden Grizzly volleyball redshirt sophomore Patti Cesarini on the Friday, March 3 episode of Full Court Press.
Previously setting the new school record in January, Hugh-Plott cleared 2.2 meters on February 17 in Ann Arbor, which equates to seven feet and 2.5 inches, and is the leading height in the Horizon League and the 11
th-best mark nationally.
A graduate of Forest Hills Northern High School in Grand Rapids, Hugh-Plott and his Oakland teammates completed their 2022-23 indoor season on February 25-26 by competing in the Horizon League Indoor Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where they finished second among the eight schools with a score of 148.
Hugh-Plott captured the high jump title in Fort Wayne at 2.1 meters (six feet and 10.75 inches) and placed eighth in the long jump at 6.89 meters (22 feet and 7.25 inches).
