OAKLAND NAMES JIM SERATT STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING ASSISTANT COACH

Seratt comes to Oakland from the Pittsburgh Pirates Class-A Affiliate Greensboro Grasshoppers

ROCHESTER, Mich. –
Jim Seratt has been named strength and conditioning assistant coach announced by Director of Strength and Conditioning Terry Sauerbry. Seratt joins Oakland after serving as the strength and conditioning coach for the Greensboro Grasshoppers which is the Major League Baseball Minor League Class-A Affiliate for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
 
"Jim will be an excellent addition to our staff," said Sauerbry. "His knowledge, experience and work ethic make him a great fit for our athletics department. I know he will work extremely hard to make our program the best that it can be and help our student-athletes achieve maximum performance."
 
While at Greensboro, Seratt assisted with the implementation and administration of the strength and conditioning program, daily group warm-up and drafting daily sports performance schedules for the baseball athletes.
 
"I'm very excited to be joining the Oakland University staff and family. Oakland has rich academic and athletic traditions and I look forward to experiencing those traditions firsthand," said Seratt. "It is my hope to make a meaningful and impactful contribution to the athletics department helping in the long-term development and success of the student-athletes."
 
Prior to his time a Greensboro, Seratt served as the football strength and conditioning assistant and the Olympic strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Missouri State University where he helped develop and implement training programs for men's and women's soccer and golf, women's tennis, baseball, softball, swimming and diving, track and field and volleyball.
 
In 2016, Seratt also was the director of performance at Two-K Sports Training where he led the development and launch of the organized youth-athlete sports performance program responsible for the training of youth baseball, softball and soccer athletes.
 
Seratt, a native of Trout Creek, Montana, earned a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in health promotion and wellness management from Missouri State in 2018 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from the University of Puget Sound in 2009.
