OAKLAND ANNOUNCES HOLLIE L. LEPLEY HALL OF HONOR CLASS OF 2020

ROCHESTER, Mich. –Oakland University Athletics is excited to announce the return of the Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor induction ceremony and introduce the class of 2020 featuring 17 former student-athletes and staff, in addition to the George Wibby Award and Oakland Athletics Community Service Award.
 
"I am excited to resume the Hall of Honor induction ceremony and to celebrate individuals who have played important roles in the rich history of Oakland University Athletics," Director of Athletics Steve Waterfield said. "This past year, numerous alumni told me how much the Hall of Honor meant to them and its important place in athletics department tradition. Returning the Hall of Honor allows us to celebrate Pioneers and Golden Grizzlies." 
 
This year's winners include:
Don Kirkwood - Baseball: (1969-71) 
Keith Benson – Men's Basketball: (2007-11)
Katie (Wolfe) Trolla – Women's Basketball (1998-2003)
Jon Myatt - Men's Cross Country (1989-92)
Lia (Jones) Palomino - Women's Cross Country (2008-13)
Chad Elliott – Men's Golf (2004-07)
Liz Ecker – Women's Golf (2008-12)
Jeff Wiese - Men's Soccer (2002-05)
Jessica (Boyle) Powell - Women's Soccer (2005-08)

"Because this is the first induction ceremony since 2016, it is important to me that one representative from each sports team is honored this year," Waterfield said. "The Hall of Honor class of 2020 includes individuals who excelled not only in athletic competition and but also contributed significantly to the athletics department, University, and surrounding community.  I look forward to celebrating their achievements and contributions on January 24, 2020."
 
This year's induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac. The event is open to the public and those interested in attending can find registration information here. Fans are encouraged to RSVP by January 10.
