ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Oakland University Athletics is set to host the third annual Black and Gold Awards Tuesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit.

The Black and Gold Awards serve as a celebration for Oakland's 320 student-athletes to honor their accomplishments in competition, the classroom and in the community.

Some of this year's presenters include Fox 2 news and Oakland alumnus Amy Andrews, The Detroit News Tony Paul, Detroit Pistons Vice President of Public Relations Kevin Grigg, Olympia Entertainment President Tom Wilson, Fox 2 sports Jennifer Hammond and Woody Woodriffe, WXYZ-TV Brad Galli and Justin Rose, and WDIV-TV Jamie Edmonds.

Tuesday's event is open to the public and free to attend. Business professional attire is recommended.

For the first time, the Black and Gold Awards will be televised on TV20 and air on Monday, April 24, at 8 p.m.
