RANDI SMALL NAMED ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Randi Small was named an Oakland University Assistant Athletic Trainer, announced Assistant AD for Athletics Performance Chris Meny on Wednesday.

"During the interview process Randi became the best choice by the staff due to her unique qualities and experiences," said Meny. "Her energy and organization will be a positive influence on the health and wellness of the student-athlete's at Oakland University."

A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Small spent two years at Bowling Green as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for men's soccer and softball teams. She designed and implemented daily rehabilitation programs, created new policies and procedure manuals and evaluated injuries in order to make return-to-play decisions. While at BGSU, Small worked with the Gatorade Sports Camp as a Team Leader, serving as one of two certified athletic trainers that covered all youth sports camps and organized coverage of all camps.

Small served as a Certified Intern Athletic Trainer at the University of Richmond where she worked with the football and field hockey teams. She performed administrative duties including insurance stock and bill and assisted with initial inventory and upkeep of inventory. Small also supervised undergraduate students in field set up, injury evaluation, and application of modalities.

Small attended Michigan State and received a bachelor's degree in athletic training. She worked three years in the MSU athletic training department, assisting with several sports over her time.
