ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland University Director of Athletics Jeff Konya has announced that Marshall Foley will join the Golden Grizzly staff as Associate Athletics Director on Thursday. Foley will focus on sport supervision for several sports and serve as the Director of Championships. He will also oversee facilities, athletic performance and training, business operations and serve on the Director of Athletics' Executive team.
"We are very excited that Marshall Foley has accepted our offer to be our Associate Athletics Director," said Konya. "He will bring a wealth of experiences that will make him a value added proposition for our organization. Specifically he will forge many tremendous relationships with our current staff, student-athletes and all Oakland constituents both internal and external to the department."
Foley is currently serving as the Associate Commissioner for Championships for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. He joined the MAAC in 2006 and has administrative oversight of conference championship events for 22 sports. As part of the senior management team for the conference, Foley is involved in strategic and long-range planning for the MAAC and its membership.

Prior to working with the MAAC, Foley spent five years as an Associate AD of Internal Affairs (2001-05) and Assistant to the Athletic Director (2000-01) at Canisius College. There he had management oversight of every aspect of the daily operations of the Department of Athletics that concerned the coaches and staff, athletic facilities and fiscal operation.
Before working with the Golden Griffins, Foley worked for the University of Alaska Anchorage as the Assistant to the Director of Athletics (1996-98) and Assistant to the Vice Chancellor (1998-2000). He earned a masters degree in public administration from Alaska Anchorage in 2000. Foley attended Duke University and received a bachelor of arts degree in history in 1995.
Foley's first official day at Oakland University will be May 26th.
