CRITTENTON BECOMES HEALTH CARE PROVIDER FOR GOLDEN GRIZZLIES

Dec. 4, 2015 ROCHESTER, Mich. ââ'¬" Oakland University Athletics and Crittenton Hospital Medical Center, a member of Ascension Michigan, have entered into a five-year partnership that makes the Rochester hospital the official health care provider for all 18 intercollegiate sports for the Golden Grizzlies, announced Director of Athletics Jeff Konya.

"We have forged a relationship with Crittenton that will be transformative to our student-athlete experience," said Konya. "We are excited about all the possibilities this can bring. The vast amount of services they offer is all encompassing and will give our student-athletes the highest amount of care possible."

"As two long-standing pillars in the Rochester community, a partnership between Oakland University and Crittenton was a perfect fit," said Gwen MacKenzie, vice president, Ascension Health and Michigan Market Executive. "Most importantly, our partnership will provide the 325-plus Oakland student-athletes with expert courtside medical care, as needed for injury and, understanding the unique urgency of caring for student-athletes, we'll provide follow-up care with expedited access to the wide-range of diagnostic and treatment services offered at Crittenton. Working in conjunction with athletic trainers, our physicians focus on injury prevention and optimal performance as well as overall health and wellness."

In addition to the designation as the official health care provider, the agreement with Oakland Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Golden Grizzly Athletics, will provide Crittenton with extensive media exposure, including radio and television sponsorships, highly visible signage in Oakland's athletic venues, and prominent advertising in Golden Grizzly sports publications and on the school's official athletics website GoldenGrizzlies.com.

From surgical expertise to innovative therapy and rehabilitation, Crittenton is a leader in providing advanced treatments for patients with orthopedic and sports-related injuries. Physicians have led in cutting-edge research that provides first-class care to patients and student-athletes.

On October 1, Crittenton Hospital Medical Center became a part of Ascension Michigan.

Crittenton Hospital Medical Center (located at 1101 W. University Drive, Rochester, Michigan) is a 290-bed acute healthcare facility serving communities in Oakland, Macomb and Lapeer counties. The medical staff of nearly 500 physicians provides a wide range of medical specialties. As a fully accredited teaching facility, Crittenton Hospital Medical Center provides a campus for residents from Wayne State University's School of Medicine who are specializing in Family Medicine, and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT).
