ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland junior Olivia Nash has been named the Madness Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 5-12, as announced by College Sports Madness on Monday.

Nash, a native of Escanaba, Mich., scored a team-high 23 points with eight rebounds in a 89-56 victory over Milwaukee in Oakland's Horizon League opener on Saturday. She scored 18 of her 23 points in the second half on 7-of-10 shooting as the Golden Grizzlies outscored the Panthers 50-30 in the second period. It marks her third 20-point performance of the season.

The Golden Grizzlies will be in action twice this week as they travel to Valparaiso on Thursday then return home to host UIC on Saturday starting at 4 p.m. in the O'rena.
