ROCHESTER, Mich. - This edition of Golden Grizzlies Weekly showcases three Oakland Athletics sponsored events as all teams are on the road competing.
MONDAY, SEPT. 8
Jumpin' Jamboree
▪ The Jumpin' Jamboree will occur on Monday after being postponed from Friday and will go from 4-6 p.m. in the Hamlin Circle with free Buddy's pizza, games and inflatables. It is also the first opportunity for students to join the Grizz Gang.
TUESDAY, SEPT. 9
Super Grizz Fest
▪ Super Grizz Fest will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the mall area in front of Kresge Library. Over 200 Oakland departments, student organizations, community businesses and services agencies will attend for student giveaways and other sign-up opportunities.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 10
Sweets, Treats and Grizzly Beats
▪ UPDATE: The event has been moved to Wednesday, Sept. 17. The event is from 7-9 p.m. on the lawn by Bear Lake. Student can compete in contests with Oakland student-athletes including a pie eating contest, eat free Cool Yo frozen yogurt and listen to music.
GOLDEN GRIZZLIES ON THE ROAD
Men's Soccer
▪ The men's soccer team will have a two-game Colorado road swing beginning at Denver on Friday at 9 p.m. ET and then at Air Force at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Women's Soccer
▪ On Friday, the Golden Grizzlies travel to Colorado College beginning at 9 p.m. ET and then to Air Force on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Women's Volleyball
▪ Coming off a win over the weekend against defending SEC champions Missouri, the volleyball team travels to West Point, N.Y. to compete in the two-day Army Invitational Saturday Sept. 13-14.
Men's and Women's Cross Country
▪ Both teams will hit the road on Saturday to compete in the UW-Parkside Midwest Open in Kenosha, Wis. This will be the site of the Horizon League Championship on Nov. 1.
Women's Golf
▪ The women's golf team will be competing in the state of Michigan this weekend as they travel to East Lansing, Mich. to play in the Mary Fossum Invitational hosted by Michigan State.
