Horizon League Spring 2014 Academic All-League Teams
 INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland landed 10 student-athletes from five sports on the Horizon League's 2014 Spring Academic All-League Teams, announced the league office on Wednesday. A total of 89 student-athletes were chosen as voted on by the Horizon League's faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.
Oakland's 10 selections included baseball player Spencer Marentette, men's golfer Evan Bowser and women's golfer Donna Fiscelli. Represented from the men's outdoor track and field program were Chris Scott, C.J. Gozdor and David Koponen, while Serena San Cartier, Meghan Daly, Miranda Haas and Katelynne Hartman were selected from the women's track and field program. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale) and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits.

| Spencer Marentette | JR | 3.97 | Creative Writing Marentette, a junior infielder, earns his second-straight academic all-league selection after being named to the team last year in The Summit League. He hit .280 in league play and finished the season batting .262. Marentette concluded the season second on the team in on-base percentage at .386, including .413 in league play, and was also third on the team with 21 RBIs.

| Evan Bowser | SO | 3.50 | Pre-Business Administration Bowser was named to the All-Horizon League team this season and earns all-league honors for the second consecutive season. He is the first OU player to earn all-league accolades in his first two season. Bowser, a native of Dearborn, Mich., ranked fifth in scoring average with a team-best 74.25. He placed fourth at the Horizon League Championships and earned all-tournament honors shooting 223 (+7) at the three-day event.

| Donna Fiscelli | SR | 3.50 | Studio Art Fiscelli finished the season with a 80.60 stroke average, good for third on the team. The native of Dearborn, Mich., helped lead the Golden Grizzlies to a runner-up finish at the Horizon League Championships with a 234 (+15) that earned her all-tournament accolades and her first top-5 finish of the season.

| Chris Scott | SO | 3.47 | Health Sciences Scott, a native of Shelby Township, Mich., was the 800-meter run champion at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 1:54.12. He also ran the fastest 400m dash on the team this season clocking a 50.55.

| C.J. Gozdor | SO | 3.77 | Pre-Business Administration Gozdor broke his own school record this season in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 9 inches. At the Horizon League Championships, the native of Clarkston, Mich. finished just outside the medals in fourth place.

| David Koponen | JR | 3.76 | Environmental Studies Koponen ran the fastest 800-meter run on the team this season with a time of 1:53.75 and finished fourth at the Horizon League Championships in the event clocking a 1:54.51. The Livonia, Mich. native was also part of the team's fastest 4x400m relay team that placed fifth at the league meet.

| Serena San Cartier | SR | 3.84 | Health Sciences San Cartier was the winner of the 100-meter hurdles at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 14.54. The native of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada set the school record in the event at the Toledo Invite the week after with a time of 13.91.

| Meghan Daly | SO | 3.75 | Pre-Business Administration Daly, a native of Manteno, Ill. placed fourth at the Horizon League Championships in the javelin with a throw of 105 feet, 6 inches.

| Miranda Haas | SO | 3.94 | Biology Haas finished the season with the team's fastest time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:14.01 and placed fifth at the Horizon League Championships in the event. She also earned an eighth-place finish in the 5,000m run at the league meet with a time of 18.35.51.

| Katelynne Hartman | SR | 3.67 | Elementary Education Hartman became the school's record holder in the shot put this season with a throw of 42 feet, 4.25 inches. She also placed seventh at the Horizon League Championships in the shot put with a mark of 41 feet, 5.25 inches.
