ROCHESTER, Mich. - This edition of Golden Grizzlies Weekly highlights an in-state rivalry against a nationally ranked opponent and three Horizon League weekend matches.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 22
Men's Soccer vs. No. 16 Michigan State, 7:00 p.m.
▪ The Horizon League's No. 1 men's soccer team will a nationally ranked Michigan State team that is coming off a top-25 win over Penn State. It is DCFC night as members of the Northern Guard will be in attendance. The first 200 fans will receive a free grey "Wear The Bear" t-shirt.
FRIDAY, OCT. 24
Volleyball vs. Cleveland State, 7 p.m.
▪ The volleyball team begins the second half of the Horizon League slate against the Vikings, who they played to a five-set victory on Sept. 27. The Golden Grizzlies will be celebrating Halloween inside the Athletics Center O'rena with free candy and a costume contest.
SATURDAY, OCT. 25
Volleyball vs. Youngstown State, 4 p.m.
▪ The Golden Grizzlies look to stay in first place in the Horizon League against Youngstown State on Parent's Night.
Women's Soccer vs. Cleveland State, 7 p.m.
▪ It is a Blackout at the Oakland Soccer Field as all fans are encouraged to wear black and #WearTheBear in support of the Golden Grizzlies taking on the Vikings as they head to the conclusion of league play.
GOLDEN GRIZZLIES ON THE ROAD
Women's Soccer
▪ The women's soccer team will play its first-ever match in the inaugural Metro Series, driven by Trinity Transportation, on Wednesday when they travel down to Titan Field to take on the University of Detroit Mercy beginning at 3 p.m. Oakland leads the Metro Series 2-0 with men's soccer getting a 2-1 double-overtime win.
Men's and Women's Golf
▪ The Oakland men's and women's golf teams will compete in their final Fall tournaments of the season Monday and Tuesday at the UD Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
Cross Country, EMU Fall Classic
▪ Both the men's and women's cross country teams will compete in their final tune-up races before the Horizon League Championship on Friday at the EMU Fall Classic in Dexter, Mich.
Men's and Women's Swimming and Dicing, vs. Northwestern and UIC
▪ After winning their first two dual meets of the season, the men's and women's swimming and diving teams will look to keep the momentum going at a tri-meet, hosted by Northwestern with Horizon League for UIC, on Saturday
