Oakland University Honors Graduates and Champions

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland University Department of Athletics honored Oakland's student-athletes during the annual Graduates and Champions banquet on Friday, April 15 in the Athletics Center O'Rena. The department honored its seniors and student-athlete performances over the course of the 2010-11 seasons.

The following awards were given out:

Hollie L. Lepley Award
The most prestigious award handed out by the Department of Athletics, these award-winners are nominated by their coaches and rewarded to the student-athletes who have accomplished the highest athletic achievement, academic achievement and community service.
Male Winner: Zack Jones (Men's Cross Country / Track and Field)
Female Winner: Brittany Dunn (Women's Volleyball)

Scholarship Recipients
For the 2010-2011 Academic year, we are proud to recognize those student-athletes that were selected by the Athletics Scholarship Committee to receive Named, Endowed Athletic Scholarships. While many of our student-athletes receive some form of scholarship support, only eight were honored with a Named award.

The Team Spirit Award
Oakland's athletic teams are awarded spirit points for attending athletic events throughout the 2010-11 seasons, showing Golden Grizzly pride for all sports. This award is given to the team that accumulated the most spirit points for the second year in a row the winner was...
Winner: Women's Swimming and Diving

Grizz Rock Video Winners
Oakland's teams had the option of creating a music video of Oakland University athletics and the three entries were shown during the Graduates and Champions banquet. Those in attendance voted on which one should win.
