Oakland APR Report

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland University women's golf team once again was publicly recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for posting its second straight perfect multiyear score of 1000 and seven of the Golden Grizzlies' 18 intercollegiate sports rank higher than the average institution, announced by the NCAA office on Wednesday.

"Our mission statement for the Department of Athletics states that `Above all else, we produce graduates, champions and friends of the university'," said Director of Athletics Tracy Huth. "I believe this report is a great example of that and I cannot thank our coaching staff and academic support personnel enough for the job they are doing."

The data released by the NCAA includes the past four academic years, 2005-06 through 2008-09. Each individual team is given a grade up to 1000 for each of those years as well as the past four years combined.

Nine of Oakland's 14 sports eligible for the multiyear APR were higher than last year's data. The Golden Grizzlies had three sports post a perfect score of 1000 for the single-year data from the year 2008-09; men's cross country, women's cross country and women's golf.
