ROCHESTER, Mich. - The achievements of three legendary head coaches will be celebrated as iSekurity presents "25 Years of Excellence in Coaching" to benefit the Athletics Endowed Scholarship Fund at Oakland University on Friday, Feb. 6 at The Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester.
The event will honor the coaching achievements of swimming head coach Pete Hovland (30th season), men's soccer head coach Gary Parsons (28th season) and men's basketball head coach Greg Kampe (25th season) and will also feature a roast of Kampe, emceed by veteran broadcaster Frank Beckmann and featuring numerous former coaches and players.
"It's extraordinary in this day and age to have a coach stay with one school for 25 years," said Director of Athletics Tracy Huth. "To have three coaches that have surpassed that milestone is a testament to their level of commitment to Oakland University as well as the university's commitment to the athletics program. We are looking forward to the opportunity to honor these coaches, and also to have some fun at coach Kampe's expense."
Tickets for the event are $150 per person and includes admission to the reception, dinner and the roast. VIP tickets cost $200 per person and includes a private reception with Kampe prior to the event, dinner, the roast and preferred seating. Former student-athletes may purchase a maximum of two tickets at $100 per person or $150 for VIP tickets.
Entire tables can be purchased for $1200, with VIP tables available at $1600. Portions of the ticket prices can be considered charitable gifts.
Business attire is required and those interested in attending must RSVP by Friday, Jan. 23. For more information, please contact Gina DeMartis at (248) 370-2669 or demartis@oakland.edu.
