Summit League Academic All-League Release

ELMHURST, Ill. - With the first semester of the 2007-08 academic year in the books, The Summit League has announced its Academic All-League teams for the fall season. A total of 61 Oakland University student-athletes, second only to Western Illinois??? 62, from the sports of men???s and women???s cross country, men???s and women???s soccer, and volleyball have been honored for their academic excellence.

"It???s one of our goals to be at the top of the Summit League not just athletically, but also academically," said athletics director Tracy Huth. "This just shows that our student-athletes and staff are making a tremendous effort towards that goal." In order to be selected to the Academic All-Summit League Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.00 or better grade point average in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility.
