Rochester, Mich. (July 5, 2007) ???C Oakland University???s Athletics Department has announced the recipients of the Golden Grizzlies Excellence in Academics awards for the Winter 2007 semester. Each term during the academic year the department recognizes those student-athletes that have excelled academically. Student-athletes who meet the criteria of a minimum 3.0 GPA with a minimum of 12 credit hours taken are named to the list. For the Winter 2007 term a total of 188 student-athletes representing all 16 varsity teams and all classes attained the Golden Grizzlies Excellence in Academics honor. Laura Kwiatkowski (Ortonville, Mich./Biochemistry/Golf), and freshman
Melissa Martinez (Clarkston, Mich./Biology/Track) all posted perfect 4.00 grade point averages. For the men top honors went to senior
Chris Fecek (Rochester Hills, Mich./Biology/Cross Country) with a 3.99. In addition 12 other Oakland student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.90 or higher for the semester. That list includes, senior
