Rochester, Mich. (July 11, 2006) ???C Oakland University???s Athletics Department has announced the recipients of the Golden Grizzlies Excellence in Academics awards for the Winter 2006 semester. Each term during the academic year the department recognizes those student-athletes that have excelled academically. Student-athletes who meet the criteria of a minimum 3.0 GPA with a minimum of 12 credit hours taken are named to the list. Senior
Lisa Pellafone (Rochester, Mich.; Elementary Education/Tennis) was one of three student-athletes to attain a perfect 4.0 during the semester. For the Winter 2006 term a total of 168 student-athletes representing all 16 varsity teams attained the Golden Grizzlies Excellence in Academics honor. Nicole Piggott (Pewamo, Mich.; Medical Lab Sciences/Basketball) and freshman
Jessica Pike (Clawson, Mich.; Wellness & Health Promotion/Basketball), all of whom attained perfect 4.0 GPAs. For the men top honors went to
Dave Elliott (Algonac, Mich.; Biology/Cross Country) who each attained a 3.95 mark for the semester. In addition, senior
Jayme Wilson (Shawnee, Kan.; Marketing/Basketball), junior
Lauren Sanchez-Murphy (Rochester Hills, Mich.; Spanish Language & Literature/Tennis), senior
Michelle Jackson (Metamora, Mich.; Communication/Track & Field), junior

Christina Cibrario (Milford, Mich.; Elementary Education/Golf) and freshman
