(Jan. 23, 2006) ???C Oakland University had a total of 48 student-athletes named to the fall 2005 Mid-Continent Academic All-Conference team it was announced by the league office today. To be selected for the team, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, and be a letterwinner in the sport for which he/she is nominated. Oakland???s 48 selections to the team were tied for the second most in the nine-team league, trailing Valparaiso with 59. Centenary and Western Illinois also had 48 recipients. Oakland???s women???s soccer team contributed the most student-athletes to the list for OU with 16 squad members gaining recognition, while the men???s soccer squad was close behind with 12. The Golden Grizzly men???s cross country team contributed eight honorees, while the women???s cross country squad and volleyball each place six on the list.
